Description

Sign in front of the cathedral in Frankfurt, germany. While it is called a Dom, the gothic cathedral (built in the 14th-15th century) was never the seat of a bishop. It was an important political place though, since the kings of the holy roman Empire were elected here and emperors crowned. During the bombing of Frankfurt by the Allied Forces in 1944 the cathedral suffered severe damage (it burned out) and was reconstructed in the 1950ies.

Sehr schick! Erinnert mich irgendwie an das Varieté obscur Bildchen was es zu sehen gab als quasi countdown, also wo man diesen Uhrenturm sah. Vielleicht ists mein schlechtes Gedächtnis aber die Architektur kommt mir halt ähnlich vor(was ja auch durchaus möglich ist da ja ffm)

Und jetzt weiss ich sogar den Unterschied zwischen Kirche und Dom.
